Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month from 12:00- 1:30 pm

Committee description: Works as a liaison between the community and government agencies to address family preservation topics relating to American Indian families.

Committee goals: 

Acts as a liaison between the community and government agencies. 

Addresses family preservation topics relating to American Indian families.

Upholds the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act (MIFPA), and Minnesota’s Tribal-State Agreement. 

Works with community members, tribal partners, justice partners, stakeholders, and community agencies to collaborate and provide educational events to the community on issues relating to child welfare. 

Provides networking for professionals working within the American Indian community and child welfare.
